Can I Still Get Connected with Japan Prepaid SIM/Pocket WiFi? / Case 6: The Hakone Open-Air Museum (Kanagawa)

Checking map, contacting with people, searching for something, etc. etc.
Internetting is essential, especially you travel abroad.

But, even at famous tourist spots, Japan sometimes has no connectivity with the internet.
How do you know that beforehand?

Japanese 3 major mobile phone companies NTT DoCoMo, au (KDDI), and SoftBank provide the maps, showing how far each company’s frequency reach.

But unfortunately, these are available only in Japanese.
So, in this page, I checked it on behalf of you.

Case 6: The Hakone Open-Air Museum (Kanagawa)

The Hakone Open-Air Museum is one of the most tourist spots, which got huge popularity in 2017 at TripAdvisor. You can read over 1,000 feedback in English to The Hakone Open-Air Museum at TripAdvisor.

The Hakone Open-Air Museum has provided a great website for the area in multiple languages.
It definitely helpful for travelers: The Hakone Open-Air Museum Official Website

As for connectivity in the area, you need to pay some attention as The Hakone Open-Air Museum is located at the middle of mountain area.

According to my research, today, SoftBank is the best. They offers a good network even around the area to some extent. au (KDDI) provide good next to that.

On the contrary, among the three, DoCoMo is the weakest on the area at this point. You might be connected just on the spot, however, you might lost the connectivity if you go even further from it.

Although they are available only in Japanese,
I just put links to network compatibility maps offered by them in one place.
If you want to check it through the links below by yourself, put Japanese “箱根彫刻の森美術館” into their search windows.
